Karen Duffy is a Massage Therapist , Doula and Mother. She has always had a natural gift for energy
work. After reading the book, “The Law of Attraction” by Ester Hicks
in 2004, she felt drawn to explore Reiki and began training through the International Center
for Reiki Training. She then enrolled in massage school at The Touch Therapy
Institute in 2005 and received her massage therapy license. She became a certified
Reiki Master the same year. In June of 2006, pregnant with her daughter, she hired fellow massage therapist, Nora Oppenhiemer,
as her Doula. The two quickly discovered that they shared the goal of opening a wellness center. And the rest is history!
Nora Oppenheimer
is a second generation labor assistant, certified Massage Therapist, childcare professional and fine artist who holds the
philosophy that the wellbeing of the entire family and community is necessary to nurture the development of children.
LOTUS
OF LIGHT was conceived in 2005. Karen was pregnant and hired Nora as her Doula. They became quick friends and both shared
dreams of owning a business that would serve to heal and empower people and somehow impact the health of the Earth too. Karen
had chosen the name Lotus of Light for her massage business. Then, during her birth, Karen saw the Lotus of Light unfold as
her daughter was born. The result of this on June 12 2006, her beautiful daughter Ariel Allisone! Months later, after watching
"The Secret", Nora and Karen's vision began to unfold magically, like the petals of a lotus. The result of this gestation?
